This never happened, just in my imagination, based on real people, I don't own them. Amanda is mine, I love that woman. The Martins are mine, too.
Warnings: underage sex, m/m sex, mention of underage prostitution and child abuse/neglect, homophobia.
Kris has been in the same foster family since he was three. He's a very happy, well adjusted child, but beginning to feel different. Adam is a
troubled teen, in and out of group and foster homes and on the street, forced to do things, no child should ever have to go through.
This is the story of them. A Kradam Love Story.
This is a lot different that anything else I've written, there will be some angst. It will break your heart at times, it did mine, but bear with
me, it definitely get's better and happier and eventually sexier. I'll try an update once a week. I hope you enjoy it. Please comment, it
makes me happy.
Brotherly Love - Chapter 101
The next morning, the boys came home from Devon’s apartment and then they were heading up to Chelsey and Brent’s school with Pam and Ron for her graduation. They would spend the night near the campus and then drive home Sunday afternoon. Everyone was so excited; especially Chelsey. This was finally her moment.
When the family arrived, they found Brent first, and then met Chelsey and the two of them took the family on a tour of the campus. “It’s really beautiful up here”, Pam commented.
“Yeah, it is. But not too far from home.”
Brent remembered his freshman year in Missouri, being so homesick. He was really glad he transferred.
Chelsey introduced them to some of her friends and then they went to her dorm. Since she was a senior, she was in a suite with four other girls. It was huge and had a living room and mini kitchen. Almost like having an apartment. “What are you going to do next year, Chels?” Kris asked her. She’d already been accepted into graduate school here.
“I’ll have off-campus housing now that I’ll be a graduate student.”
“That’s great, Chels”, Adam told her.
“Yeah, I loved the dorm, but I’m looking forward to having my own bathroom”, she chuckled.
“I know exactly what you mean.”
Kris felt just a twinge of jealousy, but immediately dismissed it.
The Martin family let Chelsey get ready while Brent walked them out to the football stadium where the graduation ceremony would be held.
They found their seats and waited for the procession. It was very similar to Devon and Kenny’s, Adam thought as the music began.
Everyone stood up as the graduate procession started filing into the stadium. They spotted Chelsey right away and cheered for her as she waved back at her family.
Once they were all in, the graduates took their seats while the president of the university began speaking…
Once everyone had given their speeches, they began calling the graduates to the podium to accept their diplomas. When they got to Martin, Chelsey, her family clapped and cheered. And then before they knew it, it was over and the graduates threw their caps in the air.
After the ceremony, Chelsey found the Martins and they all hugged. “We are so proud of you, sweetie”, Pam and Ron both told her.
“Thanks, mom and dad.”
“Love you Chels”, her brothers said, all giving her a hug.
“Now, why don’t we go out and celebrate”, Ron said.
They made their way out of the stadium and to the parking lot and the family climbed into the suburban. Ron had found a really nice restaurant nearby for dinner.
“Dad”, Chelsey chided as he parked the car. “This is too much”, she said.
“Nonsense. This is a really big day for the Martin family. You are the first Martin child to graduate college.”
“Yup, only three more to go”, she smiled, happily.
They went inside the restaurant and were soon guided to their table by the fancily dressed host.
“Dad, this is really nice.”
“Only the best for my girl”, he said, kissing her on the top of the head.
“So Chelsey, Brent. Tell us about finals…”
After dinner, the family drove the older kids back to campus and then found their hotel. After checking in, Adam and Kris said goodnight to Pam and Ron and then went into their room that was adjoining to their parents.
They cuddled all night and in the morning, they got up and met their parents for breakfast. Brent and Chelsey drove over to meet them and then they were all driving back home to Conway.
The next week, Adam began working at the agency with Amanda and his mom. He was mostly answering the telephone and doing the filing and occasionally making appointments for Amanda. He liked it well enough. He and Pam would have lunch together the days that he was there and he got to spend time with Amanda when she was in the office. But, he was antsy to perform again. He missed the stage. The band had a couple of small gigs lined up for over the summer and he and Kris were both looking forward to rehearsals with their band mates.
Kris had a couple more weeks left of school and then he'd be out for the summer as well. He was going to two baseball camps this summer, each for one week and the first was coming up the week after school let out. It was at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, but they would stay at the dorms. He was looking forward to that. There would be six different colleges there with coaches and scouts.
The Martins were planning their vacation to Disney World in August, before classes started again for older kids. They were getting a cabin at Fort Wilderness which was a lot less expensive than three rooms in a hotel, even outside the resort.
Chelsey and Brent were home, too. Chelsey had gotten an internship at the agency. She sort of huffed at the fact that she wasn’t getting paid and Adam was, but it was for class credit and would be great to put on her resume one day. Adam felt bad and took her out to lunch a couple of times a week. “Adam, you don’t have to, I’m not really mad.”
He just laughed, “Yeah, I do.”
Kris got out of school the first week of June. Adam was waiting for him when he got home and dragged him out to the car so they could get to the storage unit an hour or so before the rest of the band.
They were dressed, but making out on the couch when Tommy and Dani arrived. “Well, I guess I better get used to it”, Tommy snickered.
“Oh, hey guys”, Adam jumped up to greet his friends.
Kris just groaned.
The rest of the guys showed up a few minutes later. Dani gave them the details on their first gig which was in three weeks. Kris reminded them that he’d be gone the next week, so they’d need to work around him. Tommy could manage. The two traded off between guitar and bass anyway.
Kris enjoyed his days without having to work, but he missed Adam terribly. By the third day, he decided to hang out with Allison and Lucy at the pool. “You could still get your job back, you know.”
“Yeah, I know”, he shrugged.
“Hey Kris, we could really use you”, the manager was walking by and noticed the group.
“I’m going to be gone a lot this summer”, he reminded him.
“So, work when you’re in town. Just part time. Say, three days a week?” He sounded very convincing.
“OK”, Kris finally caved.
“Good, glad to have to back. The new hires are a little green”, he chuckled.
“Wow, that’s great, Kris.”
“I know, but I sort of wanted to chill this summer.”
“So chill, but make a little money on the side.”
“Yeah, you’re right.”
“So, where’s Adam?”
Kris told Adam that night that he was coerced into working a few days a week at the pool. “That’s great, baby. Let’s just make sure that we work the same days, or we’ll never see each other.”
They worked it out and then Kris let his boss know the next day what days he could work and when he’d be away. He was glad to have Kris anyway he could.
The next week, Kris left for Baseball camp at the University of Arkansas. He and Ethan were driving together with a couple of other guys from the team. Adam waited to go to work until Kris was gone so they could spend the morning together.
“I’m going to miss you so much, baby”, Adam said, holding him tight.
“I’ll call you every night, Adam.”
“I know. I’ll work extra and I may hang out with Tommy.” Adam sounded worried.
“What’s the matter?”
“Do you know where you want to go to college yet, Kris?”
“Yeah, of course. Where you are, Adam.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, why would you ask me that?”
“Because there are going to be scouts at this camp who might want you to play for their schools and what if you were offered a full scholarship? You couldn’t pass on that, Kris.”
“Talking to Dani much?”
“Yeah”, Adam shrugged. “I just don’t want to hold you back, Kris. I mean that.”
“You’re not, but this is really good experience and I want to go.”
“I’m not trying to stop you, Kris. I just…”
“Just what, Adam?” Kris was beginning to get annoyed. He didn’t need this right now. He wanted to go and have some fun with his teammates.
“I’m sorry, Kris. I just want you to keep your options open.”
“Adam, we’ll talk about this later, OK? It’ll be ok.”
Adam nodded and kissed him goodbye. “I love you, Kris.”
Kris turned around, tears in his eyes. “I love you, too. But, Adam. You went off to school and left me first, you know?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Adam shouted.
“Nothing, just… It’s my turn now, ok?” Kris said, frustrated.
“I didn’t leave you, Kris. I stayed nearby so I could see you”, Adam practically whispered, feeling horrible.
“I didn’t ask you to.”
“I wanted to.”
“That’s right, Adam. You did it because you wanted to.” Kris was now the one shouting.
“I have to go.”
Adam nodded, and turned away from the door. He didn’t know why he was so upset.
Kris slammed the door and a few minutes later, Adam heard the car speed off. Chelsey was just coming down the stairs, but could hear all of the shouting.
“Adam, what was that all about?”
He just shook his head and sat down at the table. Chelsey poured him a cup of coffee from the pot and handed it to him. “Why don’t you tell me what’s going on?”
Adam told him what Dani had said about the camp. That there would be scouts from a bunch of different schools looking at Kris. “He’s really good, Chels.”
“I know, Adam.”
“So, what if some great school really far away wants him to play for them. How can I hold him back?”
“But he wants to be with you, Adam.”
“Yeah, but is that really the best thing for him?”
“Isn’t that Kris’s decision?”
“Yeah, but he’s not thinking clearly.”
“Adam, Kris is a smart kid.”
“Let me ask you this. What if he did get recruited by some school that was far away? What would you do?”
“Probably transfer to be with him”, he shrugged.
“And would that be the best for you?”
“I don’t know.”
“I have a feeling that you two will work this out. Let Kris experience this right now.”
“Chels, you’re right. God, I’ve missed you.”
“I know, I’m pretty great”, she chuckled.
“Yeah, you are.” Adam got up and hugged his sister.
“Now, go and fix this.”
“Right.” Adam got out his phone and texted Kris. “I’m an asshole. I’m sorry, baby.”
Kris had gotten in the car steaming with anger at Adam. Why was he doing this? He’d do anything and go anywhere for him. Why can’t Adam just give him this one week away with his friends?
“What’s wrong with you, dude?” Ethan asked him after watching Kris stewing in his seat.
“Oh, trouble in paradise?”
Kris told him about the fight and Ethan just laughed. “Man, that guy loves you, Kris. Give him a break. I think he’s just worried that UCLA will recruit you and either you’ll leave him, or worse, stay with him and regret it for the rest of your life.”
A minute later, Kris’s phone buzzed and he picked it up, looking at Adam’s text and smiled.
Ethan grabbed the phone from Kris’s hand and started laughing. “See?” And then he handed it back to Kris and just shook his head.
Kris typed in quickly. “Yeah, but that’s why I love you.”
Then he added, “I’m sorry too.”
Adam responded with, “Have fun, OK?”
“I’ll call you tonight.”
“Can’t wait. Love you too, Kris.”
“Ok”, Ethan held up his coke can, “Are you guys ready to have fun?” He shouted.
Everyone yelled, “Hell, yeah” as they headed toward their new home for the next week.
