Summary:
Kris has been in the same foster family since he was three. He's a very happy, well adjusted child, but beginning to feel different. Adam is a troubled teen, in and out of group and foster homes and on the street, forced to do things, no child should ever have to go through.
This is the story of them. A Kradam Love Story.
A/N:
This is a lot different that anything else I've written, there will be some angst. It will break your heart at times, it did mine, but bear with me, it definitely get's better and happier and eventually sexier. I have no idea how long it will be, around 100 chapters. I'll try an update once or twice a week. I hope you enjoy it, please comment, it makes me happy.

Brotherly Love - Chapter 88
The boys spent the rest of the evening alone in Adam’s room. One of Adam’s dorm friends came by earlier to invite them to a party, but Adam politely declined. Kris was on the other side of the door, completely naked, palming himself and making sexy faces at him, while Adam stifled the giggles, and then quickly ushered the guy out of his room so he could get back to his naughty boyfriend and fuck the smirk right off his face.
They finally fell asleep around midnight, but woke up in the middle of the night to make love again.
Kris loved weekends at the dorm. Not only did he have Adam all to himself, but he got to feel a little grown up and get a taste of what’s to come.
The boys woke up the next morning and went to the cafeteria for breakfast. Adam had rehearsal in the afternoon, and Kris was looking forward to it. He couldn’t wait to see Adam up on that stage. He wouldn’t see him in drag, of course, but at least he’d get to hear him sing. Kris also wanted to see this jerk that Adam and Tommy had told him about. He wasn’t going to say anything to him, he’d promised Adam, but still, he just wanted to see for himself…
Adam walked Kris to the auditorium where they had rehearsal and re-introduced him to Ms. Fisher.
“Kris, it’s nice to see you again”, she shook his hand. “Wait until you see Adam on stage. He’s amazing.”
“Oh, I know he is”, Kris answered.
“Well, places everyone”, Justine shouted as the cast scrambled to their spots.
Adam and Kris took a seat in the first row and settled in. They were rehearsing the major parts today as most of the company and the pit had the weekend off. The first scene was Mark, Roger and Tom. Adam’s introduction didn’t come for a little while so he could sit with Kris and tell him about each of the actors as they appeared.
Kenny really was a good actor, although he took himself way too seriously. The guy playing Roger seemed really nice, but he was very shy and didn’t talk much; to anyone. Adam wasn’t sure how he’d pull off his character, but when he was on stage, Devon really lit up. He was a decent singer, too.
Adam and Kris were seated very close together and holding hands. Kenny noticed and as he got off the stage, he glared at the two.
“Can I help you, Kenny?” Adam asked him.
He just rolled his eyes and walked past them. “God, Adam”, Kris commented. “Want me to kick his ass?”
Adam snickered, “Aw, my protector”, he kissed Kris on the cheek and put his arm around him.
Just then, one of the girls came over to them and sat down. “Do you believe that a-hole?”
“No, actually, I can’t. You’d think a theatre major would be a little more, uh, tolerant?”
The girl nodded in agreement and stomped off, glaring back at Kenny in protest.
“Ok, next scene, Angel and Tom”, Justine announced.
“Ooh, that’s my queue, baby”, Adam kissed Kris quickly on the mouth and then jumped on stage to get into position. His opening scene was a musical number. They didn’t have the pit, but Justine had a tape of all of the music.
The guy who played Collins was a good singer, deep voice. But, when Adam began to sing, ‘You Okay Honey?’ even Kenny was speechless. After they ran through the scene twice, Adam jumped off the stage and returned to Kris amongst whistles and clapping.
“Pretty good, freshman”, Kenny nodded at him as he walked past. Adam wasn’t sure why he needed his approval, but it felt good, just the same.
“Baby, that was incredible”, Kris said as Adam got back to his seat.
“It’s not much of a song”, Adam shrugged. “I like the next one better.”
“You were amazing, I was actually a little jealous”, he whispered, shyly.
“Really?”
“Yes, you were that convincing. I wanted to be Tom.”
“I love you”, Adam kissed Kris gently on the lips and grinned. They watched the next scene, holding hands with Kris’s head on Adam’s shoulder.
They didn’t notice that someone kept staring at them.
“Angel, you’re up.”

Rehearsal went on for a few hours, and then Adam and Kris headed out of the auditorium. As they walked a few steps outside, they heard someone behind them. "So you're gay?" Adam turned around and saw that it was Devon, the guy playing Roger.
"Yeah", Adam said, "You have a problem with me, too?" He spat, sarcastically.
"No", Devon exclaimed. "Of course not, I just didn't know.” Then he added quietly, “I'm glad that I'm not the only one."
"Um, you’re gay?"
Shaking his head, Devon revealed, "I’ve never told anyone before. Kenny's kind of an asshole and well, this is Arkansas and..." Devon lowered his head like he was ashamed to admit it.
"Devon, do you want to have dinner with us?" Adam asked the shy boy.
His face lit up, "Yeah, I'd like that."
Devon walked with Adam and Kris to the cafeteria as they gossiped about the rest of the cast; mostly Kenny. He was much more talkative than Adam had ever seen him before. He wondered why.
They talked at lunch about a lot of things, but mostly about coming out and how scary that was. Kris told him about his experience in High School.
"And what about you, Devon?" Adam asked of his coming out.
“Well, I just did. To you two”, he shrugged.
“Are you serious? You’re never even told your family?” Kris asked.
“God, especially not them. They think it’s bad enough that I play music. I could never tell them about doing musicals or being gay”, he said, sadly.
“I’m sorry, Devon. That really sucks. But, I think you’ll be happier being yourself, rather than trying to pretend you’re something else”, Adam offered his advice.
“I don’t know. What about Kenny?”
Adam snorted, “What about him? His opinion doesn’t matter.”
Devon just shook his head.
“How about this, tell who you want, when you want, but in the meantime, hang out with me”, Adam offered, as Kris looked at him funny. Adam noticed his change of expression immediately and gave Kris a reassuring squeeze.
“Devon, there is nothing greater than finding someone to love; no matter who that person is. Just look at Kris and I.”
Kris got even closer to Adam and smiled possessively at the both of them.
“Yeah, you’re right. You two look incredibly happy together. I want that.”
After dinner, Devon left Adam and Kris who went back to Adam’s dorm. “So, that was kind of weird”, Kris said, mostly to himself.
“Why? I think it’s great that he felt comfortable enough to come out to us.”
“You don’t think he’ll get a crush on you, do you?” Kris asked.
“Kris”, Adam shook his head at his jealous boyfriend. “I don’t know, but you don’t need to worry about a thing, baby”, he tried to reassure him.
They spent some time alone before Tommy got back and then Kris had to go home; it was a school night. Adam walked Kris to his car and they kissed for a few minutes before Kris finally spoke. “I’m glad that Devon will have you to talk to.”
Yeah me too, baby.”

Devon and Adam became really good friends, and Devon was getting more comfortable with himself. Adam introduced him to some of his gay friends at school and he was talking more at rehearsal. The girls really liked him and Adam joked that Devon was their new gay bff.
“Nah, that’s you, Adam”, he joked right back.
Kris came over the next weekend and saw quite a change in Devon. “So, does he have a boyfriend yet?”
Adam just laughed, “I love you, Kris. Do you know that?”
“Of course I do.”
“Good.”
They made love on Adam’s tiny bed and then headed out for dinner. They found Devon in line and asked him to join them. While they were eating, they noticed Kenny a few tables away, glaring at them. “Seriously, what is that guy’s problem?” Kris practically shouted.
“Don’t worry about him. I realized that even though he’s an ass, he’s harmless”, Adam declared.
“I like him”, Devon admitted.
“What?”
“I know he’s full of himself and can be kind of a jerk, but I think there’s something else there, too.”
Adam started to chuckle, “You have a crush on Kenny?”
“No”, Devon fake punched Adam in the arm.
“We really need to find you a boyfriend.”
“Brad.”
“What, baby?” Adam asked Kris.
“Brad”, he repeated.
“Uh, last time I checked, Brad already had a boyfriend. Besides, Devon is slightly more classy than Brad”, he laughed.
“Who’s Brad?” Devon asked innocently.
“He’s a good friend. Sort of a twink.”
Devon raised his eyebrow, “twink?”
“Oh boy, do you have a lot to learn about gay culture. Don’t worry, I taught Kris, I can teach you, too.”
They munched on burgers while Adam explained to Devon all the different types of stereotypical gays. Kris would intervene at times and they were all cracking up so hard when someone came up to their table.
“Uh, hi guys.”
They all looked up to see Kenny, and laughed even harder. Adam snorted, ‘Metrosexual’.
Kenny just stared blankly, not getting the joke. “Um, nice job today, Adam. I really mean that. You're an amazing singer.” He smiled weakly at the group.
Devon smiled back and Kris just glared at him.
“Thanks, Kenny. That means a lot.”
“Ok, I just wanted to say that.” And then he left, leaving the bewildered group.
"Nice compliment", Devon finally said, watching Kenny walk away.
"Ok, Devon", Adam had to intervene. "Rule #1, no crushing on straight boys. It only leads to heartbreak", He added, seriously.
"I am not crushing on Kenny", Devon stated. "But he does have a really nice ass", he started laughing again.
"No", Adam and Kris were both laughing too. "No, he doesn't."

The rehearsals for the play were starting to come along. They'd been rehearsing for about six weeks. Kenny had mellowed a bit. Adam really wasn't sure what his deal was, but at least he wasn't glaring at him any longer.
Devon made rehearsal a lot of fun. He really was a cool guy. Tommy liked him, too. The three of them had dinner together quite often.
Kris stopped worrying about Devon having a crush on Adam. Turned out his type was more like Tommy. Adam finally convinced him that Tommy wasn’t gay. “But he’s so pretty”, Devon would say.
“Yeah, he is”, Adam giggled. “And so is his girlfriend.”
Adam made it his mission to find Devon a boyfriend. There really weren’t that many gays on campus, other than the few friends that Adam already had, but he knew there had to be someone out there for his friend.
One Friday evening, Adam got a call from Brad. He was in a tizzy. His boyfriend and he had just called it quits. Poor Brad was a mess. “Can I come and visit?” He pleaded.
“Of course, Brad. Are you up for a party?”
“Always”, he suddenly perked up. “What should I wear?”
Adam rolled his eyes at his friend. Then he got an idea. “Uh, something nice.”
“Always, bitch. I’ll see you tonight.”
Adam hung up and waited for Kris to come over. He accosted him at the door and pulled his boyfriend inside, kissing the breath out of him. “Hi baby.”
After they finished saying hello, Adam told Kris about his phone call with Brad. “What are you thinking?” Kris asked suspiciously.
“It was your idea, you know”, he pointed out.
“Hmm, how much do you like Devon?”
“Kris, Brad’s a good guy.”
“Yeah, I guess”, he giggled. Brad had been good to them over the years.
They devised a plan and then called Devon, inviting him to the dorm party tonight. Adam decided not to tell either one about the other, and just see what might come of it.
Adam and Kris finished getting ready, and then they heard a knock at the door.

Seriously though, they could make a perfect couple, though Brad is a little intense. Gets me wondering if we might find Kenny getting jealous?

LOL, jealous Kris. Maybe he'll grow out of it.
I had to smile when Devon didn't know what a twink was cuz I could relate. I'd never heard the term myself before I started reading fanfic and ya'll corrupted me *grins*
