Brotherly Love - Chapter 75
With just two full days left of their vacation, Pam herded everyone around the kitchen table to jointly decide on how to spend them.
Brent wanted to go surfing again, of course. Kris did too, but only if Adam went with him. Adam wanted to go into Los Angeles to go shopping. Ron wanted to try deep sea fishing and Chelsey wanted to do another tour of the stars homes.
Pam chuckled, “Yup, that’s about right. Well, let’s figure out the best way to fit this all in and have time to eat, too.”
Brent went to get the laptop to research fishing trips and tours and pretty soon, they’d come up with a game plan.
“Well, let’s get a good night sleep, then”, Pam said, shooing everyone out. “Goodnight, boys”, she said to Adam and Kris, kissing them both on the cheek. “We’ll see you in the morning for breakfast.”
“Goodnight, mom. Love you”, they both chimed and went to their room.
“Kris, everything, alright?” Adam asked. “You were awfully quiet, baby.”
“I’m fine”, he shrugged. “I’m just not ready to go home.”
“Aw, baby. I know.”
“I’ll miss sleeping with you.”
“Let’s make the most of it now.”
Kris knew that everything should be OK, but just couldn’t shake the feeling that when they got home, everything would change. Chelsey, Brent and now Adam would be leaving him, and he’d be alone with his parents. He hardly ever thought of his real parents anymore, but he did now. Of course Pam and Ron loved him, he knew that. But unlike Adam, who at least knew who his mom was, he had no idea what his parents were like. He didn’t even remember them at all. He felt alone and lost right now and he didn’t understand why.
“Come here, baby”, Adam called him into the bathroom. “Let’s take a shower together.” Adam was already naked, brushing his teeth when Kris came in. He couldn’t help it; every time he was saw Adam this way, his breath hitched. He was so beautiful. Kris tore off his own clothes and threw himself at Adam, kissing him roughly and slowly pushing him towards the shower.
“Kris”, Adam said surprised.
“I want you, Adam”, Kris said lustfully.
“You have me, Kris.” And Adam let Kris do whatever he needed to do at that moment.
Later, they climbed into bed and Adam crawled on top of Kris and looked him straight in his eyes, “My turn”, he smirked, taking over control.

Breakfast was on the table when Adam and Kris arrived the next morning. “About time, boys”, Chelsey teased, looking them over.
“What?” Adam giggled.
“I’m just jealous of all the sex you two get”, she whispered to them.
“Chels”, Adam coughed in his orange juice and Kris turned bright crimson.
“What’s that, Chelsey?” Mom asked.
“Nothing.”
“OK, everyone. We have a full day”, she said, ushering everyone out the door.
They were driving to Santa Monica to Marina Del Rey Sport Fishing for a day of deep sea fishing. Ron had convinced everyone to at least try, even Adam. “Alright, but if I accidentally hook any of you, I’ve warned you.”
As they boarded the ‘New Del Mar’ they were each given life preservers, a fishing rod and tackle and were directed to the bait buckets. Ron paid the fare which included a one-day fishing license for each guest. They climbed aboard and listened while the captain gave the rules for the cruise. He explained the types of fish they most likely would see and since there were mostly beginners on board, he did some instruction, including what to do if you actually caught something. Kris laughed, because Adam was listening so intently to everything the man said. “What?” He asked his snickering boyfriend.
“You are so hot like this”, Kris whispered.
The boat’s engine roared to life, as they set off on their five hour fishing excursion. After about twenty minutes, the captain began speaking again. He pointed out a school of sea bass as everyone cast their poles from different areas of the boat.
“Adam look”, Kris whispered. A fish was nibbling at his rod, but took the bait and escaped. “Man, did you see that?” He reeled his rod in to see that bait was gone. “Sneaky fish”, Kris grumbled.
Adam giggled and then he felt a bite, too. “Shit”, he said as his pole was tugged.
“Adam”, Pam reprimanded.
“Mom, what do I do?” He yelled, panicking and laughing at the same time.
Ron went over to help Adam and sure enough, he had the first catch of the day. Everyone aboard clapped for him as the crew brought over a net and helped the fish off the hook.
“Sure, he catches one first”, Brent snickered as Kris rolled his eyes.
“That was cool”, Adam felt really good.
Anything that they caught during the day would be cleaned and packaged for them. Then, back at the dock, they would have it packed in ice and shipped directly home to arrive the same day as the Martin’s.
After about four hours, they had caught between the family, four sea bass, a couple of halibut and a tuna. Ron caught that one. It was huge and would practically fill their freezer by itself.
By the end, they were hot, sweaty and exhausted. Ron drove them back to the hotel to get cleaned up and then they had dinner next door.
“That was a blast”, Adam had to admit. He had the best luck of the day with three catches.
“And you never wanted to fish before”, Brent teased. “Who knew you were such a natural.”
“Well, I am a native Californian”, he chuckled.
After dinner, they wandered the strip for a bit, walking off their meal. They decided on dessert and coffee at a cafe and then called it a night.
They were getting up early for surfing in the morning. Brent had convinced the other three to go to Venice Beach with him and his friends. They agreed, feeling ready for something a little more adventurous.
They met Brent’s friends again who remembered Kris. “Ready to try again?” The one guy asked.
“Yeah, and Adam too.”
“Great”, he sounded genuinely happy. “Glad you’re joining us this time, Adam”, he reached his hand out to shake theirs. “And this is your sister?”
“Chelsey”, she greeted the cute surfer boy.
“Awesome”, he said, eying her over as Chelsey giggled. “Let’s get you suited up”, he said to the four Martins.
While the kids surfed, Ron wanted to get some coffee on the boardwalk, but Pam didn’t want to let them out of her sight. “Why don’t I bring you one, then”, he offered.
“Thanks honey.” She said, sitting on the sand, planting herself so she could keep an eye on her children.
Ron patted her shoulder and kissed the top of her head. “Be right back”, he said, smiling at his wife.
The waves at Venice Beach were a little bigger than what Adam and Chelsey were used to in Santa Monica by the pier. They didn’t go out very far, Kris either. But they had a great time. The guy who took a liking to Chelsey hung out with the three of them, giving them pointers and paying particular attention to her.
Adam and Kris giggled at their sister, who was flirting shamelessly with the dude.
Ron came back with the coffee and sat down next to Pam. “They look pretty good out there”, he commented.
“Yeah. They’re all grown up. Look at them”, she reflected.
“We did a fantastic job, Pam; with all of them.”
“I know”, she said. “I’m just missing them already.”
“Kris is still at home.”
“Thank God”, was all she could think. Pam was beginning to understand how Kris was feeling.

After they turned in their boards and gear, the four Martin kids ran across the sand towards their parents, smiles wide and laughing together.
“Mom, did you see us?” Adam asked. “Man, I’ve never fallen so much in my life”.
“I will never laugh at any of you, ever again”, Chelsey admitted.
“Sure, Chels.”
“OK, let’s head back; we have a tour bus to catch.” Pam reminded the group. They drove to the hotel to get changed and have a quick lunch and then headed out again for their two hour celebrity homes tour.
Chelsey had her camera out as they drove through Beverly Hills again. However, this tour was not only a lot longer; the guide went into a lot more detail on the history of Hollywood and the stars themselves. Chelsey had her camera out the entire time, snapping pictures of the beautiful estates.
Adam and Kris sat together, enjoying the ride, but being more interested in each other than the commentary or the scenery.
Pam understood, and was just glad that her family was all together.
It was still early in the day when they got back to the hotel, so they drove to Santa Monica to spend one last day on the beach and swim in the ocean. That evening, they had dinner at Rusty’s Surf Ranch right on the Pier. They had nightly entertainment and really good food.
The Martin’s were seated and enjoyed a blues rock band while they feasted on fresh seafood. Kris was in heaven, of course. They ordered fish and chips all around.
After dinner, they walked along the pier, taking in the sights one last time before heading back to the hotel. No one was ready for it to end, so they parked the car and walked to the strip for dessert.
Their flight tomorrow wasn’t until the late afternoon, so when they got back to the hotel, Pam suggested that they watch a movie together. Once it was over, Adam and Kris said goodnight to everyone and went to their room for one last night together, alone.
“Adam”, Kris pulled Adam towards their room. “Come on”, he said, anxiously.
“What’s the hurry, baby?”
“I want this night to last forever.”
“Kris”, Adam pulled him to him as they arrived at their door. “This isn’t our last night together”, he assured him.
“I know”, Kris tried to convince himself. “But, please…”
“Ok, baby.”
Adam pushed the door open and pulled Kris inside.

The next morning, they went out on Sunset Boulevard to have breakfast. They were driving into Los Angeles for some shopping before heading out to the airport for their flight. Adam loved the shops in West Hollywood, but he wanted to check out ‘fashion district’ before leaving California.
There was too much to see for just one day, so they concentrated on Santee Alley which they had only heard about. It was an actually alley with a festival type of atmosphere, featuring outdoor vendors and bargain shopping. Adam found a pair of boots he couldn’t live with out and a pair of pants that he absolutely needed Kris to own. Chelsey giggled at the look on Adam’s face when Kris modeled them. “God, I wish a guy would look at me like that”, she shook her head.
They found some amazing jewelry and spent way too much money. “We’ll need another suitcase for all the stuff you guys just bought”, Ron laughed as he urged them back to the car.
They drove to LAX and returned the rental car and then checked in their bags. They had lunch in the terminal as they waited for their flight to be called. Everyone was a little sad to be leaving; they’d had such a great time. But, they all had lives to get back to. Adam was really looking forward to college. Just a few years ago, he hadn’t even thought it was a possibility.
As soon as they heard their flight being called, the Martins walked to the gate and waited for their rows to be called. They weren’t able to get two rows together, so Adam and Kris were boarded first, being seated in the back. They hugged their family and then walked through the gate. “Well Kris”, here we go”, Adam put his arm around Kris and guided him to their seats.
Just a few minutes later, the rest of the Martins had boarded just a few rows in front of them. They stowed their carry on and then took their seats as the flight attendants went though the safely routine.
Before they knew it, the captain was announcing take off and they were headed down the runway and then slowly took off into the air.
Kris and Adam looked out the window as Los Angeles got farther and farther away.
